The Rise & Shine Team visits Dayton

We know everyone in the Dayton area is anxiously waiting for the Rise and Shine grand opening celebration, which is fast approaching.  This past Tuesday, we were fortunate enough to visit the city of Riverside and many of the people who will be participating in the ribbon cutting ceremony at 5:45 a.m. on September 3. 

 

When meeting with Mayor Johnie Doan of Riverside,  we found that this city is a great place to be!  He is so excited that we are back in the Dayton area and so are we.  The Mayor will proclaim next Wednesday as Bob Evans day in the City of Riverside, and  we are so excited and grateful to be the first restaurant to receive this honor in Riverside. 

 

We also met with Linda Von Mohr with Children’s Medical Center of Dayton, who will be speaking at our ribbon cutting ceremony.  Bob Evans has partnered with Linda and the Dayton Children’s to help raise money during the day-long event. Bob Evans will donate 50 cents to the Dayton Children’s Medical Center from every opening day customer.  In addition, every guest will have the opportunity to receive a FREE Rise & Shine t-shirt when they donate $5 or more to the organization!

We could not have explained our Bob Evans Rise & Shine grand opening in Steubenville, OH, any better than The Herald Star did that morning. Believe it or not, our number one Bob Evans fan in Steubenville arrived at the restaurant at 7 p.m. Saturday, a good 35 hours before we opened our doors that Monday, August 18. By the time we arrived at the restaurant on Sunday, there were about 12 people in line. During the night, the Rise & Shine team was thoroughly entertained by an energetic crowd, especially during an engaging corn hole tournament that lasted from around 1 to 3:30 a.m.

As the night continued, more and more early-risers showed up to be a part of the Rise & Shine morning activities at 5:45 a.m. There were close to 200 people present and in line when the barbershop quartet, On a High Note from the Tri-State Harmonizers Barbershop Chorus, began to sing the national anthem while the VFW raised the flag. It was a beautiful sight, even to those whose eyes were half closed from hours of waiting in the parking lot.

Steubenville Mayor Dominick Mucci, Salvation Army Major May and Bob Evans Restaurants President Roger Williams all took a bit of time to speak as the brand new flag waved in front of the beautiful new building. General Manager Mark Jaworski then said a few words, cut the ribbon and it was time to eat.

That day, the restaurant served 1,658 customers, helping Bob Evans donate $829 to the Steubenville Salvation Army. Through other generous donations and with the proceeds of the Rise & Shine t-shirt donations, we’ve been informed that we helped to raise more than $1,000 for this worthy local charity! Thank you to all that made this happen!

Thank you and congratulations to everyone involved, including our corporate trainers, Area Director Steve Govey, General Manager Mark Jaworski, the staff of the Steubenville Bob Evans and of course, everyone who came out to see us! While the Rise & Shine team will miss Steubenville, Bob Evans is excited to be back in town!

The Rise & Shine Team hopes you’re ready for the exciting day Monday! It’s hard to believe the grand opening celebration is only a few days away.

We have a new feature to our ribbon cutting ceremony in Steubenville that you won’t want to miss. The national anthem will be performed by a local barbershop quartet – a Rise & Shine first! We can’t wait to hear them at 5:45 a.m., when the ceremony starts. During the national anthem, the flag will be raised by the local VFW.

Bob Evans Restaurants President Roger Williams will be there to say a few words during the ceremony, along with Salvation Army Major May, Steubenville Mayor Dominick Mucci, and the Steubenville restaurant’s General Manager Mark Jaworski. At 6 a.m., the ribbon will be cut and the brand new doors will open.

And don’t forget about the morning’s Bob Evans gift card giveaway!

• The first 25 people in line when our doors open at 6 a.m. will each receive a $200 Bob Evans Restaurant gift card;
• The second 25 will receive a $100 Bob Evans Restaurant gift card;
• And the next 50 people in line will receive a $50 Bob Evans Restaurant gift card.

Be sure to make it out for these big prizes! And for the other prizes that will be given away throughout the day and to every customer as you leave. More than $12,000 in prizes will be given away on our opening day.

We’ll be hosting different activities to entertain everyone as we did at Bellefontaine, including corn hole, the Louisville Photo Booth Co. and other small and fun games.

Since our successful Rise & Shine Grand Opening event in Bellefontaine, the word “Steubenville” has been flying around the Rise & Shine office like mad. It’s because the Steubenville, OH Bob Evans Rise & Shine Grand Opening event is only 10 days away! Monday, August 18 will be here in a snap, and we’re excited to bring you an update on the opening day festivities.

As always, the first 100 people who are 18 and older, with proper ID, to Rise & Shine will be handsomely rewarded:
• The first 25 people in line when our doors open at 6 a.m. will each receive a $200 Bob Evans Restaurant gift card,
• The second 25 will receive a $100 Bob Evans Restaurant gift card,
• And the next 50 people in line will receive a $50 Bob Evans Restaurant gift cards.

Before we open our doors at 6 a.m., we have an opening ceremony planned at 5:45 a.m. After a flag-raising ceremony performed by a few members of the Steubenville VFW, you will hear from Mayor Dominick Mucci, Jr., Steubenville Salvation Army Major Earline May, Bob Evans Restaurants President Roger Williams, and General Manager Mark Jaworski. We hope to see you bright and early!

But don’t worry, those who aren’t exactly morning people won’t miss out. Every adult that dines with us will be able to select a plastic egg on their way out the door. Each egg contains a prize, everything from a FREE soda or coffee to a $5, $10, $20, or $50 Bob Evans Restaurant gift card! All children 12 and under will take home with them a plastic egg with a surprise inside.

Also in keeping with our Rise & Shine tradition, Bob Evans has partnered with a local charity to help raise money during the day-long event. For every opening day customer, Bob Evans will donate 50 cents to the Steubenville Salvation Army. Plus, every guest will have the opportunity to donate to the organization, and those who donate $5 or more will receive a FREE Rise & Shine t-shirt!
